Beauty in the Midst of Winter

February 2022

Just the other evening I was returning home to Madison from Chardon, and it was snowing and only about 8F.  The snow had covered all the dingy snow piles and was coating the road. The headlights on our car illuminated our path and displayed the glorious beauty of this snowfall. The snow glistened like diamonds on the road and glittered and sparkled as it fell in front of our headlights. It was refreshing to my soul, and I couldn’t stop thinking about how God created such a wonder for us all. If you are not from an area that snows, you may not have had the experience of different types of snow, it depends on the temperature and so many other things, but our snowfalls this winter have given us a great variety from no snow early on, to massive amounts of snow overnight and light snowfalls too! Sometimes this is the way creating art is for me.

I’ll have to admit much of the past couple of years have been challenging for me to create and show artwork. I’m aware that this has been a difficult time for many, if not most of us. Recently, though I have had the opportunity to be involved in a few shows. Some are in progress, and some are coming up shortly. All my artwork at these locations is available to purchase.

Huntington Building-downtown Cleveland (yes, they have a large area devoted as a gallery space on the 2nd floor). I am in a two-person show that goes through April 25th. You can view the art when the building is open to the public. (Weekday work hours) You will see a variety of my artwork and Jeff Sivyer’s artwork that is made from upcycled “vintage” records into clocks.

Bainbridge Branch- Geauga County Library (17222 Snyder Rd, Chagrin Falls, OH 44023) had a call out for local artists to show on their “gallery walls”. I applied months ago, and they reached out to me just recently. My art will be in the library from February 23rd to late May.

Lake Metroparks- Penitentiary Glen Nature Center is having a show called “National Parks & Historic Sites”. The show opens on March 19th and ends on May 15, 2022. This show is a multi-media show that features photography, hiking sticks, artwork, and more. Come see what I’ve created for this show and what the other artists have made as well.

At Stella’s Art Gallery-visit my Studio #1

Stella’s Art Gallery, I have two pieces in the current show “What the World Needs Now, A Show on Positivity”. As always you can view my art and 60 other artists’ work at the gallery which is just beyond the main shopping in downtown Willoughby by the hobby shop and Domino’s Pizza.
